Rampage is an upcoming American science fiction monster film directed by Brad Peyton. It is loosely based on the video game series of the same name by Midway Games. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Åkerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
New Line Cinema will release the film on April 20, 2018 in 3D and IMAX.

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, albino silverback gorilla who has been in his care most of its life. But an otherworldly genetic experiment that has found its way to Earth mutates this once gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered that a wolf (Ralph) and a crocodile (Lizzie) have gone under similar changes. As these newly created apex predators battle each other for supremacy and tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer (Naomie Harris) to secure an antidote, fight his way through the ever-changing battlefield, and not only to halt a global catastrophe, but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.[1]

Production[edit]
Warner Bros. acquired the film adaptation rights to the 1980s video game Rampage in 2009, as part of their acquisition of Midway Games for $33 million.[10] The project was announced in November 2011, with John Rickard set as the producer. [10] In June 2015, Deadline reported that Dwayne Johnson was set to star and re-team with New Line and producer Beau Flynn, while studio was looking for a director to start production in the mid-2016.[2] In July, it was reported that New Line was in talks with director Brad Peyton to direct and produce, [11] Peyton would later state that the film would "be a lot more emotional, a lot scarier and a lot more real than you'd expect."[12]
