Red Sparrow is an upcoming American spy thriller film directed by Francis Lawrence, based on the book of the same name, written by Jason Matthews. The film tells about the Russian intelligence officer Dominika Egorova and CIA agent Nathaniel Nash, the American mole in Russia, whom she should expose. The film stars Jennifer LawrenceJoel EdgertonMatthias SchoenaertsCharlotte RamplingMary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons. It is scheduled to be released on March 2, 2018.[1]

A Russian spy (Jennifer Lawrence) falls for a CIA officer (Joel Edgerton) and considers becoming a double agent.

Production[edit]

Production started in Budapest & Dunaújváros on January 5, 2017.[7][8][9] The film was also filming at Festetics Mansion, Dég.[10] Filming commenced in BratislavaSlovakia on April 25, 2017.[11] Some scenes were shot in the Michaelerplatz in ViennaAustria on April 29, 2017.[12] On May 3, 2017, Jennifer Lawrence was spotted shooting some scenes at London's Heathrow Airport.[13]

Release[edit]

Red Sparrow is scheduled to be released by 20th Century Fox on March 2, 2018.[1] The first trailer of the film was released on September 14, 2017.
